My father discovered a second career in retirement, wholesale liquidation. He made a lot of good buys and a few bad ones like getting stuck with 50,000 rain slickers of dubious quality. One hit was this little construction based toy. The assembled toy is a fork lift but I suggested it could be put together in other forms so we got to work experimenting to see what other things it could be. We came up with many such as a speed boat, biplane, chopper motorcycle and many more.

I put all the configurations together into the video below. Dad repackaged the toy as a general construction toy using several of my photographs as guides and then let the kids imagination do the rest. Sometimes the power of suggestion makes a deeper impact than blatant marketing messages.
